When I found out my sister in law was getting married this November, I knew I had to throw her a fun and intimate bridal shower, because, well, it's what I do! She loves gold and pops of color, so I decided on a fun and subtle gem theme that could incorporate her love of gold and the tag line I came up with "May your love sparkle and Shine!" I wanted it to be truly special for her and I think it was! Here are a few details from that day.

I definitely wanted to keep it classic and chic, so I decorated with glitter, sequins and just a few pops of color like black, hot pink and a little bit of green.

I created floral arrangements in gold gem shaped vases. I used hot pink carnations, green Anastasia flowers and a little filler with yellow flowers. I've always known carnations to be this super cheap flower that you never wanted your boyfriend to buy for you (I mean, who wants them?) but I've been using them here and there and they actually look really great! I recommend them if you want more bang for your buck. I mean, look at that color! And days later, they STILL look amazing.

I really wanted gold plates, or something with a pop of color, but couldn't find anything except in the paper variety. ;) I went with square gold plates and chevron style napkins that had just the right amount of color.

For favors, I chose to get some pencils engraved. One, she is in Law school so I thought it would be fitting, and two, pencils are totally cute and useful! I had them made here and had them engraved to say 'You're such a gem! Z&J 2014".

Gold sequin table cloths are ALL the rage right now and I just had to have one for her shower. I started looking for one back in August, and they were all close to $200, which is crazy. I know they are popular and really pretty, but I could not justify spending that kind of money. I ended up finding a table cloth AND a sequin runner here, for a fraction of the cost. They are actually really nice quality and I can't wait to use them again.

The place-mats were large square black glitter scrap book paper. Easy and inexpensive, but looked really great.

For the buffet, I used all white platters and hung a glitter "Bride To Be" sign (you can get here) and black, hot pink and gold gem shaped honeycombs (you can get here). I also used the gold sequin table runner

Food and Beverage

For the menu, I wanted to have plenty of healthy options:
Orzo Salad with veggies and feta
Shrimp Cocktail
Veggie Cups with Green Goddess dressing
Fruit Kebabs with vanilla honey cinnamon yogurt dip
Dessert: Butterscotch Cupcakes & Red Velvet

The gold glitter diamond cupcakes toppers were a huge hit. I even used them in the flower arrangements. You can get those here

For beverages I kept it simple with cucumber and mint water, champagne and a punch I made with oranges, lemons, cranberries and sparkling cider. It was so yummy!

I created all of my signage for the shower on Canva.

We had a lot of fun, and yes, we played Toilet Paper Couture, which consisted of making wedding dresses and veils out of toilet paper. Oh so chic!

Zelikha's going to make a beautiful bride and I can't wait until their wedding which is only 3 days away!!

(I made the "Bride" sign by spray painting wooden letters gold and adhering them to a satin black ribbon. It made for super cute pictures. )

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at this really sweet shower. It's such a blessing to make others smile. I love this job and can't wait to do more of it.
